Tomas Baxter will serve as Ashwaubenon’s next public safety chief beginning Jan. 2, according to the village.
Former Ashwaubenon Public Safety Chief Brian Uhl retired in January. Baxter will replace interim chief Tom Rolling, who has served in the role since Uhl’s retirement.
The Ashwaubenon Police and Fire Commission appointed Baxter to the position Dec. 9, according to a news release. He will be officially sworn in to the position Jan. 2.
Baxter has worked at the Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department for 21 years, according to the release, beginning his career as a public safety officer in 2004 and most recently served as commander of operations. Prior to his career in public safety, Baxter served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
“I am thrilled and grateful to the Village of Ashwaubenon, the Police and Fire Commission, the village’s leadership team, the Public Safety Department, and the community for this opportunity and for entrusting me with this significant responsibility,” Baxter said in the release. “I look forward to continuing to serve our residents, business owners, and other key stakeholders through the delivery of the highest quality police, fire, and emergency medical services.”
