For both young Black performers and for audience members of all ages and hues, the annual Black Arts MKE Theatre Festival offers experiences that are difficult to find elsewhere in Milwaukee.

This year’s festival takes place Aug. 12-29 at multiple locations, with a mix of ticketed and free events. Designed by Black Arts MKE “to uplift and honor Black creatives,” it includes workshops to help young talents sharpen their skills, as well as stage performances.
