The route faces discontinuation after the Texas Legislature did not fund its portion of operations, according to an Amtrak news release on Thursday. The local chapter’s events will include lunch at the Fort Worth Stockyards, a trip on the Fort Worth & Western’s Grapevine Heritage Train, a visit to the Oklahoma Railroad Museum and a stop at the Canadian County Museum in El Reno, Oklahoma’s historic Rock Island Depot with a ride on a vintage streetcar.

Anyone who wishes to join may call 501-306-5558.
