Kolton Strey voted Driscoll Children's Hospital High School Athlete of the Week

Flour Bluff football player Kolton Strey continued a standout season in a win against Weslaco East and has been voted the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 29-Oct. 4.

Strey had nine tackles and a 45-yard pick-6 in a dominant district win against Weslaco East.

Strey received 8,418 of the 19,731 votes cast, which was 42.7% of total votes.

Sinton volleyball player Hailey Burch was second with 3,876 votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Saturday and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com or on X @CallerSports.

Please include statistics from the week’s games and any pertinent information or honors.

Voting runs through Thursday each week.
