Westlake baseball player Parker Saltsman and Hendrickson softball player Zoe Kellam won the online voting for the Thomas J. Henry Law Austin-area boys and girls athlete of the week polls for the week of April 28 through May 3.
Saltsman, a pitcher, tossed a four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead the Chaps past Vandegrift in a bi-district playoff game. He received 37.5% of vote ahead of second-place finisher Luke Bone, an Austin High track and field athlete who had 31.4%. Kellam, a freshman, had four hits and a pair of RBIs in a Hawks playoff win to finish ahead of Leander softball player Madi Lee, who had 13.2%.

Four other track athletes — Liberty Hill’s Spencer Harvey, Lake Travis’ Abram Reagan, Rouse’s Caden O’Hara and Anderson’s Zayden Sharp — were the other boys nominees. Other girls candidates were Hays track athlete Endia Sigall, Rouse softball player Madi George, Georgetown track athlete Lily Muzzy, Anderson track athlete Faith Murphy and Vandegrift golfer Michaela Partridge.
