What to know for 2025

The Eagles have made their mark on defense over the last several seasons, and the 2025 team could see more of the same. Veterans Memorial has depth and skill up front on defense including Frank Rodriguez Jr. and Carlo Torres — both juniors. Offensively Veterans Memorial hitched its wagon to running back Andrew Charlebois and he helped them share the District 15-5A Division I title with Flour Bluff and PSJA North last season as a sophomore.

Veterans Memorial coach Ben Bitner on the 2025 season

“We have to eliminate mistakes. We’ve had some younger guys step up. I think we have six or seven guys that we can play in our front four (defensively) that are all really good. We need them to be really good. They’ve been in it and they’ve done it. We need them to be really physical and soud with their job and control the line of scrimmage. We have young guys in a lot of places on offense that haven’t played on Friday nights. We have to eliminate mistakes and be clean quickly.”
