Texas A&M reaches 11-1 after seven‑inning run-rule win vs. UIW

Texas A&M baseball (11–1) picked up another midweek win on Wednesday night, pulling away in the middle innings to run‑rule UIW (7–6) in an 11–1 victory at Olsen Field.

Every Aggie who stepped into the box delivered at least one productive plate appearance, fueling a 12‑hit, seven‑walk, 11‑run performance. No one has been more consistent than transfer Jake Duer, who continued his early‑season surge in the DH role. Duer finished 3-for-3 with two walks, a home run, and three RBI, while Caden Sorrell and freshman Jorian Wilson also recorded multi‑hit nights.

A&M struck first in the second inning when Duer launched a solo home run to left for a 1–0 lead. The Aggies added on in the third: Gavin Grahovac ripped a two‑run double, and Ben Royo followed with a sacrifice fly to push the margin to 4–0 entering the fifth.

UIW briefly threatened with three hits and a run in the top of the fifth, prompting head coach Michael Earley to turn to the bullpen with two runners on and one out. Josh Stewart entered and immediately shut the door, escaping the jam without further damage.

The Aggies blew the game open in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Grahovac was hit by a pitch to score Bear Harrison, and Duer followed with a two‑run single to left, stretching the lead to 7–1.

The seventh inning sealed the run‑rule. After Nico Partida drew a walk, Wilson crushed a two‑run homer to right. Singles from Harrison and Travis Chestnut, followed by a walk to Terrence Kiel II, loaded the bases. Sorrell lifted a deep sac fly to center to score Harrison, and another walk reloaded the bases. Freshman Boston Kellner was then hit by a pitch, bringing home Chestnut for the walk‑off run‑rule finish.

A&M now turns its attention to the weekend with momentum, depth contributions, and an offense that continues to find new ways to produce.
