Texas A&M vs Missouri game recap, highlights: Aggies’ bats stay cold, drop game and series

COLLEGE STATION — The Texas A&M baseball postseason chances take another massive hit Saturday as they drop the game and series to Missouri, 4-1.

The Tigers came into the weekend winless in SEC play, but they have now beaten the Aggies in back-to-back games to stun A&M and potentially stunt its playoff aspirations.

The Aggies went hitless until the sixth inning and continued to struggle offensively, a common weekend theme.

A&M had not scored a run in 14 straight innings until the one run in the bottom of the ninth, dating back to the third inning of Friday night.

Due to a one-hour and 51-minute delay, both starting pitchers had short outings, forcing each squad to go to the bullpen to grind out the rest of the matchup.

A&M starter Justin Lamkin went three innings, allowing two runs on five hits on 53 pitches.

The Tigers’ starting pitcher, Sam Horn, could only throw 2⅔ innings, allowing no runs and no hits on 36 pitches.

Horn finished the day with five strikeouts and one walk on 36 pitches.

Next up is the Series’ final game at 1 p.m. Sunday, as the Aggies try to salvage one game from the weekend and fight for their ever-fading postseason chances.

The Tigers were threatening with two on board, but came up empty-handed as the Aggies kept the deficit to 2-0.
