A San Angelo resident has won $1 million in a scratch-off ticket, according to a news release.
The release from Tuesday stated the resident claimed a top prize winning ticket in the Texas Lottery game Diamond 7s.
The ticket was purchased at Walmart Supercenter No. 1249 at 610 W. 29th St. in San Angelo.
“The claimant elected to remain anonymous,” the release stated. “This was the first of four top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in this game.”
Diamond 7s offers more than $137.4 million in total prizes.
“Overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.51, including break-even prizes,” according to the release.
Beginning with the first ticket sold in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $41.5 billion in revenue for the state and distributed more than $93.5 billion in prizes to players.
