The San Angelo Relays are back for the 66th time, set for Friday and Saturday after weather concerns canceled the event last year.
Hundreds of athletes from nearly 40 schools from around West Texas, the Concho Valley, the South Plains and the El Paso area descend on San Angelo Stadium for one of the largest and longest-running high school track meets in the state.

The annual meet, one of the largest early-season track and field events in the region, features boys and girls teams competing in a full slate of running, jumping and throwing events throughout the day. The relays also serve as an early measuring stick for many programs as they prepare for district competition later this spring. It also provides an early opportunity for athletes to qualify for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in early April at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
