All lanes of Loop 306/Houston Harte Expressway will be closing soon in San Angelo and are expected to reopen in the coming months.
Due to extensive flood damage to the bridge infrastructure, the Texas Department of Transportation will be closing a portion of the loop from Bell to North Oakes to make culvert repairs, according to a Facebook post from the City of San Angelo.
The closure begins on Wednesday.
“Plan alternative routes ahead and drive carefully,” TxDOT stated.
“Estimated reopening date will be within the next few months in winter 2026,” according to the post.
“Project is expected to complete in winter 2025-2026, weather permitting,” TxDOT stated on Facebook.
There is a map of the closure and the detour for thru traffic on the TxDOT Facebook page.
