Jeep owners are being advised to park outside and away from structures as more than one million vehicles are being recalled over concerns over fire risk.
Chrysler is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles, according to a June 4 news release by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the “Off” position,” NHTSA states.
Owners are advised to park outside until their vehicle is repaired. Dealers will inspect and replace affected parts, as necessary, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 9.
