Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) announced Tuesday, May 26, that Gina Temple has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Temple holds a PhD in Applied Management & Decision Sciences and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). She most recently served as CEO for a major health system in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She brings more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, according to a news release, including a history of accelerating service-line development, improving clinical outcomes, and building robust physician collaborations.
The appointment also marks a return to the state for Temple, who previously held other senior executive roles in Texas. Her background includes serving as a hospital CEO and Texas Group Chief Operating Officer in San Antonio.
“Gina Temple is an exceptional healthcare leader who brings a wealth of clinical systems knowledge and operational expertise to Amarillo,” said Ryan Chandler, UHS Regional Group Vice President. “Her proven ability to drive sustainable financial performance while keeping patient care and physician alignment at the forefront makes her the ideal leader to guide Northwest Texas Healthcare System into its next chapter of growth.”
NWTHS operates a 495-bed acute care facility and employs a team of more than 2,000 healthcare professionals serving the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle and neighboring states.
