Liberty WR Donte Lee reportedly commits to Texas Tech out of portal

The Texas Tech football team is making quick work of the transfer portal with another offensive addition on Sunday.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that Liberty receiver Donte Lee has committed to the Red Raiders. Lee was listed as a redshirt junior this past season for the Flames after beginning his career at Shaw University in 2022 and 2023.

What Liberty transfer receiver Donte Lee brings to Texas Tech football

Hard to say for sure how much action Lee will see with the Red Raiders in 2026. He had a decent season for Liberty and provides a big body option to look at as an outside receiver. It’s also not entirely clear what year Lee will be considered since he started his career at a Division II school and spent two seasons with the Flames

At worst, Lee is a veteran option to surround Tech’s currently young receiving corps and gives competition to whoever else the Red Raiders bring in from the portal.
