With the start of March Madness quickly approaching, the Lady Longhorns are poised to make a deep tournament run. While they have a roster full of talent, two veterans have stood out in Madison Booker and Rori Harmon. On Tuesday, the duo was recognized for their stellar play, earning First and Second Team All-SEC honors.
As the Longhorns have been one of the best teams in the country, Booker has been a human highlight reel. The Mississippi native has set new career highs in points per game with 18.8, rebounds per game with 6.3, and steals per game with 2.3. Regardless of the opponent, she has found a way to make an impact, scoring 20 or more points in 13 games this season. That is why it is no surprise she received First Team honors.

Although Booker made headlines with her play, Harmon has also been a key piece. The talented point guard has rewritten the record books during her time in Austin. She currently holds the program record for steals and assists. During her college career, the Houston native has recorded 1,553 points, 928 assists, 365 steals, and 629 rebounds. Her impressive accolades landed her Second Team honors.
While the Longhorns’ focus is on winning a national title, the latest honors for Booker and Harmon place them among the best players in the country. The list of other players who received SEC honors includes Liv McGill, Dani Carnegie, Clara Strack, Raegan Beers, Jessica Timmons, and Tonie Morgan. That is not a bad list to be a part of.
Over the next few weeks, the play of Booker and Harmon will be key to the Longhorns title hopes. Last year, they fell just a few wins short of a national championship and are more motivated than ever to accomplish their ultimate goal. With Harmon and Booker playing some of the best basketball of their careers, Texas will be a very hard team to stop.
