As the Texas Longhorns have been one of the best teams in women’s college basketball, Madison Booker has continued to be a human highlight reel. The talented Junior has once again been one of the team’s best scorers and is receiving praise for her play. On Wednesday, Booker was named to the Mid-Season Top 10 for the 2026 Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Award.
Through the Longhorns’ first 23 games, Booker is averaging career highs in points with 19.1 and rebounds with 6.9 per game. She is also shooting 51.5 percent from the field while making an impact at both ends of the court. As the Longhorns have gotten off to a 21-2 record, Booker has been at the center of their success.
So far this season, the Mississippi native has nine games of 20 or more points, giving her 37 in her career. That has helped Booker move closer to making history with plenty of games left on the schedule. She currently ranks 14th on the program’s all-time scoring list with 1,670 points and is 38 from cracking the top-10.
While Booker has already carved out an unforgettable legacy in Austin, she has also shined on the national stage. Over the summer, the Longhorns star won her fourth gold medal with USA Basketball when Team USA won the 2025 FIBA Women’s Americup. She has flashed that form during the regular season.
With the 2025-2026 campaign far from over, Booker has plenty of time to add to her resume. She has already made a compelling case for adding more hardware and shows no signs of slowing down. The Longhorns once again seemed poised for a deep March Madness run, which is partly due to the play of the defending SEC Player of the Year.
