Among Texas GOP runoffs, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn will face off with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a primary runoff race. The winner will go up against state Rep. James Talarico of Austin, who clinched the Democratic nomination.

For the Texas AG seat to be vacated by Paxton, Mayes Middleton and Chip Roy will vie for the GOP nomination in a runoff. Nathan Johnson and Joe Jaworski will compete in a runoff race for the Democratic nomination for Texas AG.

Primary runoff races are set for May 26, and early voting for them will be May 18-26.

General Election Day is Nov. 3 when Republicans, Democrats, independents and third party candidates in any contested races will compete for elected positions. Those in uncontested races are expected to take the office.

Out of 144,936 registered voters in Tom Green County, 16,497 voted in Tuesday’s election, according to election results. That is a turnout of 11.38 percent.
