Fall is a great time for El Paso and the surrounding area with lots of fun festivals, from music and holiday shopping to celebrating traditions like Día de los Muertos, and Chalk the Block, which then leads to winter and the Winterfest.
In El Paso, many families look forward to the color and cultural aspects of the Día de los Muertos parade in November, and the interactive elements of Chalk the Block Oct. 11-12.
Here is a closer look at these festivals for the fall in El Paso and the surrounding area.
Chalk the Block returns in October
The region’s largest public arts festival, the 18th annual Chalk the Block, featuring nearly 200 artists, will be Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12, in Downtown El Paso.
The festival draws more than 45,000 attendees, with impressive art on sidewalks and a variety of vendors. Free admission.
Pomegranate Festival in Socorro
El Pasoans are invited to a Pomegranate Harvest Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12 at 663 Worsham Road in Socorro. The event will feature farm to table lunch, snacks and drinks for purchase, horse rides and fun activities.
City leads TeenTober Fest
Hosted by the El Paso Public Libraries, TeenTober Fest, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Judge Marquez Library, 610 N. Yarbrough. The fest celebrates teens and teen services with a day of music, games, food trucks, and resource booths. The free event empowers teens by connecting them with local organizations and helping them explore their talents and interests.
New Mexico Pumpkin Festival
The Mesilla Valley Corn Maze will have its New Mexico Pumpkin Festival, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26 at 3855 W. Picacho Ave. Las Cruces.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aside from all the regular amenities, there will be entertainment starting at noon, a pumpkin pie eating contest at 3 p.m. and adult trike races at 4 p.m.
Admission is $19 for adults, and $16 for youth 12 and under. Children under 2 years are free. There is a $2 discount for military with ID. Purchase tickets online to save time.
Junior League of El Paso moves A Christmas Fair to October
This year, the Junior League of El Paso will have A Christmas Fair from Friday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 2 at the El Paso Convention Center. The theme is An Enchanted Christmas.
The event shopping hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
General admission tickets (ages 12 and up) are $15 in advance, $16 at the door. Discounted tickets (for kids 6 to 12, seniors, military, and college students) are $14 in advance at $15 at the door. Kids five and under are free.
There will be Cookies with Santa from noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1-2. And Photos with Santa will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, and 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
Día de los Muertos celebrates culture in November
Día de los Muertos, a colorful cultural festival with parade, artisan vendors, and food trucks, will be centered around the newly opened Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) on Saturday, Nov. 1. The MACC is at 201 W Franklin Ave. in Downtown El Paso.
The parade is over a mile long and features more than 60 entries of floats, ballet folklorico performers, musicians, and community organizations. This year’s theme will be Alebrijes, the brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures.
54th annual Renaissance Arts Faire will be in Las Cruces
Who doesn’t love sword fights and eating turkey legs at the annual Renaissance Arts Faire, set for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8-9 at Young Park in Las Cruces. The event features more than 200 vendors including breweries, food, artisans and entertainment. WinterFest 2025 set for late November
El Pasoans looking forward to WinterFest 2025 can mark Saturday, Nov. 22, on their calendar.
Celebrating its 10th year, the largest holiday celebration kicks off the weekend before Thanksgiving and is the start of the holiday season in El Paso. The season kicks off with the Scherr Legate Lights Parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree at San Jacinto Plaza and continues with a festive plaza through Jan. 4, 2026.
