An El Paso man died after losing control of his motorcycle at a East Side roundabout and crashing into rock landscaping, authorities said.
Eric Berry, 45, was driving a 2020 Harley-Davidson Road Glide about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, July 24, in the 12200 block of Pebble Hills Boulevard, El Paso Police Department spokesperson Officer Adrian Cisneros said in a news release.
El Paso police released an update today that Berry died. Officers were notified Saturday, July 26, that Berry died at the hospital from the injuries suffered in the crash, the news release states.
As Berry approached a roundabout, he was unable to control his speed and lost control of his motorcycle. He fell off the motorcycle as it crashed into a rock landscaping, the news release states.
El Paso police officers arrived and Berry was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the main contributing factor in the crash was Berry’s failure to negotiate the curb at the roundabout, the news release states. Berry was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations unit.
This is the 35th traffic-related death of 2025 compared to 37 at this same time last year.
