Cowboys news: Who are they trading for, is Dak Prescott MVP, a new starting LB?

The Dallas Cowboys established themselves as he scourge of East Rutherford, as they topped the New York Jets a bunch to a little to go to 2-0 against teams that play home games in MetLife Stadium. And 2-2-1 overall, which evidently has never happened but perhaps once (see below).

Not only that, the .500 Cowboys now have 2-3 Carolina up next, a game where they might be a favorite. The march to 8-8-1 is on!

So are they going to go all in with a trade, and who might that be? There are a few names that pop up, which shouldn’t obscure the fact that in-season trades are a thing much more googled than actually happen.

Dallas Cowboys trade rumors

Here are the names that aries: Seattle Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen, a former Pro Bowl player; Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II; New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan.

So who would Dallas trade? Defensive end Mazi Smith is a former first-round pick who has very little value at this point, but may fetch something in a “former first-round pick” way.

Did Dallas Cowboys win again?

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Jets 37-22 Sunday, and it wasn’t as close as the score would suggest.

Dak Prescott MVP

No quarterback of a .500 team has ever won the MVP award. If Dallas somehow charges to the playoffs, quarterback Dak Prescott could be in the conversation. He has completed 71% of his passes and has 10 touchdowns against three interceptions through five games.

He is second in the league (behind Matthew Stafford, 1,503) with 1,356 passing yards, a good indicator of an MVP. The 2-2-1 record excludes being an MVP.

Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume

If you want to dress like a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, you can. Amazon has a full supply, and there are plenty of other places where you can find Dallas Cowboys cheerleader apparel.

Dallas Cowboys rivalries jersey

The NFL has a new way to sell third jerseys and make money $150 at a time, the NFL rivalries jerseys. Alas, those jerseys, debuted this year, only include the AFC East and NFC West. The Dallas Cowboys’ NFC East, as part of a rotation, doesn’t get to do that until 2027. There is no indication of what that jersey, two years from now, will look like. It will cost $150 or more.

Dallas Cowboys final score

Dallas beat the New York Jets 37-22. As everyone playing the Jets this year does.

Dallas Cowboys hot lemon

Wing Stop has a line of Dallas Cowboys wing flavors, the most popular of which is Hot Lemon,” which was originally known as “Cowboys Hot Lemon.” It is a combination of their Lemon Pepper and Original Hot flavors.

Dallas Cowboys standings, NFC East standings

Dallas is one of the first teams in modern NFL history to be .500 after five games — 2-2-1. They are behind 4-1 Philadelphia, 3-2 Washington and ahead of the 1-4 New York Giants. Giants coach Brian Daboll is a co-leader with Tennessee coach Brian Callahan as the first to get fired, which usually comes about now. Callahan just won, so bet Daboll.

There are no long any unbeaten teams, so the 1972 Miami Dolphins can crack champagne now.

Shemar James

Dallas’ fifth round pick in the 2025 draft played in his second NFL game and had 15 tackles off the bench. The linebacker may not be a backup anymore.

How many teams have started 2-2-1?

Per Google AI, “There is no record of any NFL team having a 2-2-1 start, as ties are exceptionally rare in the NFL.”
