Incumbent Lubbock County Court at Law 2 judge Tom Brummett will likely hold the bench after unofficial election results show him winning by double digits in the March 3 Republican party primary.
Brummett, who was first elected in 2022, garnered 62.18% of the 25,034 votes cast in the election.
County Court at Law judges in Lubbock County preside over misdemeanor criminal and family law cases.
Brummett said he was happy with the result.
“I’m appreciative of the voter’s continued trust,” he said.
He ran against Lubbock attorney Ron Sanders and will not have an opponent in the general elections in November.
