One person was found dead inside a house that had been on fire over the weekend, the Randall County Sheriff’s Office said in a March 9 update.
The Randall County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8 reporting a structure fire, where a female resident was outside the home and a male resident was possibly still inside.
The woman was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.
After further investigation, one body was located inside the residence, the sheriff’s office said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, and the identification of the deceased individual is pending with the results.
The Randall County Fire Department, Amarillo Fire Department, and Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation
