American Airlines adds first-ever direct flight from Dallas to Venice

As of June 5, you can now purchase a ticket and fly directly to Venice, Italy, according to a press release from American Airlines.

For the first time, the airline is offering direct flights from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Venice, Italy. American Airlines planned a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony for the route on Thursday afternoon, featuring Italian cuisine and a blessing from Dallas Bishop Edward J. Burns, according to WFAA.

“As Italy continues to remain popular for summertime travel, American is making it easier than ever for customers to shop, dine or unwind in their favorite destinations,” said Brian Znotins, American Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. “Whether reveling in the history of Rome or relaxing on a beach on the Mediterranean, American’s network will offer more ways for customers to plan their perfect itinerary.”
