Opening a curated vintage store in Amarillo hasn’t been without its challenges. Some shoppers still struggle with the concept — especially the pricing.
“I get it — we have a lot of thrift stores in Amarillo. People are used to seeing $2 shirts and $5 jeans,” Hallye Stubblefield said. “But this isn’t that. This is about preserving fashion history, celebrating craftsmanship, and creating something new out of something old.”
Still, the response has exceeded her expectations.
“We already have regulars. People I know by name who’ve come back four or five times,” she said. “Some tell me this is exactly what they’ve been looking for — that Amarillo needed a space like this.”
For Stubblefield, success isn’t just about revenue. It’s about connection.
“I’ll know we’ve made it when we’re able to give back consistently, when people come here just to hang out or feel inspired,” she said. “When the store is thriving — and we’re helping others thrive too — that’s the dream.”
She paused for a moment, then smiled.
“It’s not just about clothes. It’s about care, it’s about people, and it’s about keeping stories alive.”
