The Cowboys have a wild card along the offensive line. While it appears 2025’s starting five is etched in stone, there is still a bit of unknown that will have to be proven in training camp. There’s an assumption that the team doesn’t have to move Tyler Smith back out to left tackle, and another that Cooper Beebe is a better fit at center than at guard. If either of these prove to not be true, then that brings ERFA re-signing Brock Hoffman into play as he has proven a capable starter along the interior.
Hoffman has started nine games over the past two seasons, endearing himself to his teammates and fans as a tough-guy enforcer who is begging for a fight. He’ll look to leverage that tenacity and take advantage of any opportunity to earn his way on the field. All he can do is prepare himself; coaching decisions of how best to deploy the OL is something he can’t control.

Profile
Out of a myriad of interior backups, Hoffman has the best chance to start. He would’ve competed with Rob Jones to be starting right guard, but the Cowboys drafted Tyler Booker with their first-round pick. He still has an opportunity though, if left tackle Tyler Guyton falters and the team returns Tyler Smith there, opening up a competition for left guard. Another alternative is if he proves to be a better center than Beebe, who was solid in his rookie season after moving over from playing guard for Kansas State.
