Westerville resident, PGA golfer Jason Day stands out at U.S. Open practice with wild shorts

He wasn’t born in America, but that isn’t stopping Westerville’s Jason Day from representing the Stars and Stripes.

As Day has started practice for the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Plum, Pennsylvania, he has done so while donning American flag shorts that have caught the attention of reporters and fans alike on hand covering the build-up to the event.

Day has rounded out the outfit with an American flag-themed white jacket, looking like he’s ready for a Fourth of July cookout as much as a golf tournament.

Day, 37, lives in Westerville with his wife and five kids. He did not participate in the 2025 Memorial Tournament due to a sore wrist.
