Track and field | Perry wins four events at OATCCC indoor state meet

GENEVA — Perry High School won four titles at the OATCCC Indoor State Track and Field Championships held this past weekend at Spire Academy.

Parker Offineer, Justus Detter, Evan Spurrell and Jayden Wilson led the Panthers to a Division I state title in the boys 1,600-meter relay. Perry’s winning time of 3:20.03 was one one-hundredths of a second ahead of runner-up Olentangy.

Perry’s Ahsha DiPietro captured three girls seated state championships. She won the 60 in 15.38 seconds, the 400 in 1:21.20 and the shot put with a throw of 12 feet, 4.75 inches.

Four other Stark County athletes won state titles.

Jackson’s Gabby Whalen won the girls pole vault in Division I with a jump of 12-4. In Division III, Fairless’ Brice Fuller won the boys 3,200 in 9:18.11 and Minerva’s Tateum Richard took the girls 800 in 2:20.37. Lake Center Christian’s Gianna Ritchie won the girls 800 in Division IV in 2:16.09.
