Whoever thought “Ohio license plates,” “sleek” and “hip” could be used in the same sentence?
Apparently state senators.
The Ohio Senate on May 20 unanimously advanced a bill that would allow drivers here to buy blackout license plates. The plates would feature a black background and white lettering with no other designs.
The bill’s next step would be the Ohio House.
Other states already allow the popular plates.
Motorists would be charged $40 for the plates plus a $10 administrative fee, according to reporting by state government reporter Jessie Balmert.
The funds would support first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder and highway safety.
