The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place near Fountain Square on Oct. 7.
The incident began in the area of East Sixth and Walnut streets around 5:18 p.m.
Griffin Shepherd, who works as a valet on East Sixth Street, said he heard about seven or eight gunshots and saw three people running along Walnut Street. He and the other valets hid in an alley, he said, when they heard the gunshots.
Jonathan Bowden who was working on the square, said he saw a shirtless man bleeding from his hand run into Fountain Square a little after 5 p.m.
Bowden, who was moving chairs, said he saw the man two minutes after he heard eight or nine gunshots. He tried to calm the man down, who he said was yelling about being injured and seemed clearly panicked.
Police spoke with the man and helped him into an ambulance outside Fountain Square, Bowden said.
Police confirmed the shooting but did not provide details.
Cincinnati police spokesman Jonathan Cunningham said the man shot was found on Walnut Street between Fifth and Sixth streets with non-life-threatening injuries and two adults have been arrested and charged with felonious assault.
