The “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” debut for husband-and-wife-owned Walnut Hills deli Pickled Pig arrives Friday.
Pickled Pig co-owners Gary and Libby Leybman shared the news in July via an Instagram post, posing alongside the show’s celebrity chef Guy Fieri and writing “The ‘Pig is out of the sty’ we are so pumped to finally let yall know the news!”
The eatery located at 645 E. McMillan St. will appear in season 42, episode 3, of the Food Network show.
The episode called “Flavortown Flavorfest” lists the Cincinnati spot on FoodNetwork.com, describing it as “a husband-and-wife team in Cincinnati specializing in farm-to-table and fermentation, plating a prime-time pork burger with kimchi, plus smoked turkey and sauerkraut on sourdough.”
The first episode of season 42 also featured a local restaurant, with Fieri trying Camporosso’s legendary Cincinnati Style Chili Pizza. And in episode 4, debuting Aug. 29, Fieri visits Northside’s funky, nautical-themed bar and grill Northside Yacht Club.
Fieri teased his “Triple-D” Cincinnati filming to The Enquirer on May 5 while visiting Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate.
“We just shot three ‘Triple D’ joints today that are what I call ‘destination restaurants,’ like you would drive a couple hours to come and get to one of these restaurants. And I’m not going to tell you what they are yet. You probably already know, but they’re big and they’re hot. Get ready,” he said.
