One dead in possible drowning at East Fork State Park, officials say

One person is dead due to a possible drowning at the main beach at East Fork State Park.

On Saturday, July 5, officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources responded to an afternoon emergency call for a possible drowning.

According to an Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokesperson, when officers arrived, a person had been pulled from Harsha Lake. The person was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The spokesperson said that on Saturday evening, officers were informed by the hospital that the person was pronounced dead. Officials have not yet released the person’s identity.
