WADSWORTH — The high school girls basketball season has reached the regional bracket.
Wadsworth High School is hosting a Division II, Region 5 doubleheader Tuesday, March 3 with Archbishop Hoban (18-4) and Nordonia (9-15) scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. and Massillon (15-7) and Twinsburg (20-5) set to meet at around 8 p.m.
The winning teams return to Wadsworth to play in a regional final at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5.

Senior Kayla Cellura has scored nine points for Twinsburg. Her eighth and ninth points came on a layup that gave her exactly 1,000 career points. Twinsburg coach Spencer Genos called a timeout after the layup with 2:51 to go in the first quarter. Cellura hugged her teammates and coaches to celebrate the feat.

What to know about the Hoban Knights girls basketball team
Hoban defeated North Royalton 66-38 in the Division II, Northeast 3 district final on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Canfield.
No. 1 seed Hoban jumped out to a 24-7 first-quarter lead and never looked back against No. 23 North Royalton (8-16). Knights senior Niera Stevens scored 18 points, senior Amariya Davis made five 3-pointers and contributed 17 points and sophomore Ella Bockmore added 10 points. Hoban’s pressure forced North Royalton into 27 turnovers.
Stevens averages 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game and is a Mercyhurst College recruit. Stevens 17 points to surpass 1,000 career points in a 72-17 win over Garfield in a district semifinal game. Stevens scored 33 points in a loss against South Fayette, a two-time defending 5A PIAA state champion. She also scored 27 points in a win over Padua.
The Knights are coached by Pamela Davis. Davis and MaKenzie Grant averaged around 11 points apiece.
What to know about the Nordonia Knights girls basketball team
Nordonia topped Perry 61-55 in overtime in the Division II, Northeast 1 district final on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Canfield.
Senior Haydn Paul scored 34 points to lead the 20th-seeded Knights to a win over the 14th-seeded Panthers (12-12). Paul made a 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation to tie the score and force overtime. Paul then went 6 of 6 from the free-throw line and scored eight of Nordonia’s 12 points in overtime to help the Knights earn their first district title in girls basketball. She also finished with 10 rebounds, three steals and a block.
Paul averaged 16.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.2 assists per game. She is 1,000-point career scorer.
Paul set a school record with 40 points in a game vs. Solon on Dec. 6, 2025 and has signed to play basketball at John Carroll University.
Freshman Chyanne Williams added 11 points, four rebounds and four steals for the Knights, who trailed the Panthers by 10 points on two occasions.
Nordonia is coached by Ryan Wolfgang. Taylor Morgan and Savaya Woody are key defenders. Morgan averages 12.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.0 assists. Nordonia’s roster features eight freshmen and just two seniors. The Knights started the season 1-10 and are playing in March.
What to know about the Twinsburg Tigers girls basketball team
Twinsburg defeated Wooster 62-34 in Division II, Northeast 2 district final at Medina on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Kayla Cellura, Taylor Dye and Jaci Hutton are players to watch for the third-seeded Tigers, rolled past the 21st-seeded Generals (12-12).
Cellura made five 3s and finished with 26 points and Dye had 17 points and had eight assists. Dye scored her 1,000th point in the fourth quarter.
Dye averages 11.3 points, 4.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. She made six 3-pointers and finished with 21 points in Twinsburg’s 57-18 win over Green in a district semifinal.
Cellura averages 11.2 points, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals. Hutton averages 10.7 points, 2.5 steals and 1.8 assists.

What to know about the Massillon Tigers girls basketball team
Delaney Pierce scored a game-high 29 points in Massillon’s 75-50 win over Avon in the Division II, Northeast 4 district championship game at Medina on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Pierce is averaging 26.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.
Pierce has surpassed 1,000 career points as a sophomore, and has led Massillon to the regional tournament two straight seasons after the program hadn’t been there since 1994.
Massillon’s Rylee Adams and Hannah Nicola finished with 17 apiece against Avon. The Tigers are coached by Joe Pierce.
