Cooper taking control in second half against South Oldham

Just one minute into the game on a field covered in fog, a Cam O’Hara 22-yard strike to Max Wethington has the Jaguars out in front 7-0. South Oldham would respond with a lengthy 14-play, 65-yard drive to punch in a touchdown and even the score. Cooper responded in the second quarter with a Keagan Maher 12-yard run to reclaim the 14-7 lead. Out of the locker room Maher scored again from one yard out, then it was O’Hara’s turn to score on the ground to make it a 28-7 ballgame.

Covington Catholic scores early and often in win against Boyd County

The Colonels offense was off to the races against Boyd County, taking a 34-0 lead into halftime which proved too much to overcome. Though Boyd County put up 21 in the second half, it was too little too late as Covington Catholic moves on with a 48-21 win.

Simon Kenton strikes first against Oldham County

The Pioneers are on the board first following a Landon Brown three-yard dive. With just under six minutes still in the first quarter, Simon Kenton leads Oldham County 7-0. The Colonels would answer but miss an extra point. Jason Rabe punched in a 7-yard score to put the Pioneers up 14-6. Both teams booted a field goal through the uprights, and Simon Kenton connected on a 65-yard touchdown strike from Grayson Harris to Forrest Hughes to go into halftime up 24-9.
