STRASBURG ‒ A motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle crash on South Wooster Avenue near 7th Street SW at 9:15 p.m. March 20, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Nichole L. Vanmeter, 38, of Strasburg, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton.
She was riding a black 2020 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883 motorcycle northwest on South Wooster, while a black 2014 Toyota Rav4 was making a left turn onto South Wooster from a private drive, the patrol said. The motorcycle overturned and struck the Toyota, which was driven by Benjamin Cookson, 24, of Akron.
Cookson sustained possible injuries, the patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation, but impairment is not suspected, the patrol said. Strasburg police and fire, and Finlayson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
