The 19-0 Miami University RedHawks are ranked in the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll for the first time since the 1998-99 season.
The RedHawks are ranked No. 25 in the AP poll released Jan. 19.
The RedHawks were ranked 25th in the poll Feb. 15, 1999. Coached by Charlie Coles and led by Wally Szczerbiak, the ’98-99 team was 24-8 and won two NCAA tournament games before falling to Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
MU, Arizona and Nebraska are the only three undefeated men’s basketball teams remaining this season in Div. I.
The RedHawks’ 19th win of the season came in a thrilling, 105-102 overtime victory against Buffalo at Millett Hall on a game-winning 3-pointer by Peter Suder. It was the RedHawks’ seventh Mid-American Conference win.
MU’s next game is scheduled for Jan. 20 at Kent State.
