Dr. Steven Erbeck, a fourth generation dentist, announced his campaign for Ohio’s 1st District on Aug. 8. He will face CIA officer Eric Conroy in the Republican primary next May.

“As a small business owner and healthcare provider, I understand the challenges that families and job creators face every day,” Erbeck said in a news release. “I’m running for Congress because Southwest Ohio needs a representative who will truly put our community first — not play politics to satisfy Washington insiders.”

Erbeck grew up in Mason and now lives in Madeira, according to his campaign website. He attended Ohio State University and NYU College of Dentistry.

Erbeck registered to vote in Hamilton County in 2022 and voted in the 2022 and 2024 general elections, according to data from the Hamilton County Board of Elections.

His campaign will focus on economic development and supporting law enforcement, according to the news release.

Landsman won reelection in 2024 with 56% of the vote. The 1st District currently includes parts of parts of Hamilton and Warren County. Republican lawmakers could redraw tthe map again by September, which could impact the competitiveness of the district.
