Lancaster police: Boy shot on Oct. 6 has passed away

LANCASTER − The young boy who was shot on Oct. 6 passed away in the morning of Oct. 10.

Lt. Chuck Sims, of the Lancaster Police Department, confirmed his death on Oct. 11.

The boy was shot around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in a residence in the 400 block of Summitview Drive. Police have not yet released the boy’s name.

The 911 recording has a family member calling and saying the boy was shot in the head.

Sims said the case remains under investigation.

Police said a juvenile witness was not injured, and that a Glock 9mm semi-automatic weapon was found at the scene.
