Joe Flacco throws 2 touchdowns in Bengals debut vs. Packers in NFL Week 6

New team, same Joe Flacco.

In his first start for the Cincinnati Bengals since being traded from the Browns, the veteran quarterback threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, Oct. 12, as the Green Bay Packers defeated his new team 27-20 at Lambeau Field.

Flacco completed 25 of 40 passes and avoided turnovers, but the offense struggled to generate big plays, averaging fewer than five yards per pass attempt. Both of Flacco’s touchdown passes came in the second half as his team tried to rally from an early deficit.

For the Browns, Flacco averaged 204 yards passing a game. In four starts for Cleveland this season Flacco had completed 58.1 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and six interceptions.

AFC North standings

The loss dropped the Bengals to 2-4 for the season. They’ve lost their last four games. With Pittsburgh’s win over Cleveland, the 4-1 Steelers now have a big lead in the division:
