Jarrett Allen leaves Cavaliers vs. Pistons with knee injury

CLEVELAND — Cavaliers starting center Jarrett Allen is dealing with a right knee injury.

On March 3, Allen checked out of the Cavs’ game against the Detroit Pistons with 7:32 left in the third quarter and disappeared into the tunnel near Cleveland’s locker room at Rocket Arena.

Later, the Cavs announced Allen was considered doubtful to return to the game.

Allen had eight points, three rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes when he left the game.

Allen has been on a roll for the Cavs. In Allen’s previous 12 games, he averaged 22.1 points on 72.7% shooting from the field, 11.1 rebounds, 1.2 blocked shots and 29.6 minutes, helping the Cavs go 9-3 during the span.

Allen was among the nominees for Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in February, but the award went to Pistons guard Cade Cunningham.
