CLEVELAND – Bryce Harper launched a two-run home run to center to spark a six-run eighth inning to highlight a 7-1 win by the Philadelphia Phillies over the Guardians on Saturday, May, 10.

It ruined a great start from Tanner Bibee (3-3), who went seven innings of five-hit ball. He struck out three and allowed one run, earned. Joey Cantillo, who gave up the home run to Harper, got roughed up in front of a sellout crowd of 34,782.

The left-hander went 1⅓ innings and gave up seven hits. He walked one, struck out three and gave up five runs, all earned.

On the flip side, Phillies starter Gunner Suarez (1-0) was masterful. The left-hander gave up three hits, walked on and struck out five in seven scoreless innings. He finished by retiring 14 of the final 15 batters he faced.

The Guardians (23-16) avoided the shutout when Carlos Santana hit a one-out sacrifice fly to left to score Gabriel Arias in the ninth.

It was Santana’s 1,100th career RBI.
