The grounds of the Ohio State Reformatory were evacuated about 4:30 p.m. July 18 during Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival in Mansfield.
“We are in a weather evacuation at the moment,” Inkcarceration Spokeswoman Kristine Ashton-Magnuson said. “Please stay tuned to the festival app and social media for updates.”
Mansfield was expected to receive 50-mph winds and pea-sized hail, according to a statement released 4:55 p.m. July 18 by the National Weather Service.
“Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects,” NWS noted. “Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.”
Festivalgoers parked in the green, red and orange lots were asked to return to the their vehicles for shelter.
“If you camped, please return to the campground via shuttle and shelter in your vehicle or a designated shelter location,” Inkcarceration noted. “Shelter locations are marked on the camping map and with onsite signage. Do not shelter in tents.”
Everyone else was asked to seek shelter inside the Ohio State Reformatory.
