The hit-and-run death of a 19-year-old pedestrian in Clermont County has been ruled a homicide, according to a statement from the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers found Jayden Nelson unresponsive on Bethel-New Richmond Road east of U.S. 52 on March 8. The collision happened at around 4 a.m., troopers said.
On March 9, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office started an investigation into the circumstances of Nelson’s death.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office determined the death to be a homicide.
The prosecutor’s office asks anyone with information related to Nelson’s death to contact the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office at 513-732-7510 or the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 513-732-1510.
Nelson’s family has started a GoFundMe to help cover the funeral expenses.
