CANTON – Mayor William V. Sherer II is set to address the public at his first State of the City address April 2.
Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. at Umstattd Hall at 2331 17th St. NW. The address is set to begin at 6 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. City officials welcome residents, business owners and community partners to attend.
“I’m looking forward to delivering my first State of the City address,” Sherer said in a press release. “This is an opportunity to reflect on where we started, where we are, and how we’ll continue to move this community forward.”
Rick Armon, managing editor of The Canton Repository, will moderate a question-and-answer session following the mayor’s address.
Community members may submit their questions to the mayor here by March 23.
Sherer’s address will also be livestreamed on the city’s Youtube channel.
