Canal Winchester residents invited to public safety town hall

The Canal Winchester 2026 Street Program kicked off this month, with sidewalk improvements and paving work planned throughout the community.

One of those projects is the Dietz Drive resurfacing. Pavement will be replaced on Dietz from Gender Road east to Greensview Village Drive. The work will be performed in two phases: the north side of the road and the south side.

At times, one lane of traffic will be closed during construction. When this occurs, traffic traveling in that direction will follow a posted detour, while traffic in the opposite direction will continue through the work zone. For example, if the eastbound lane is closed, eastbound traffic will be detoured and westbound traffic will remain open. Work is expected to begin as soon as school ends and should wrap up in June.

High Street/Columbus Street Intersection: The intersection will be converted to a four-way stop. Curb “bumpouts” will be installed at the corners and the brick paver crosswalks will be improved. Traffic will be maintained using flaggers. The intersection change will take effect in June.
