Browns TE David Njoku, WR Gage Larvadain leave loss to Steelers with injuries

PITTSBURGH — Tight end David Njoku left the Browns’ 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury.

Njoku was one of two Browns skill position players to leave because of injury in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Gage Larvadain was knocked out of the game with a head injury with 11 minutes remaining.

Njoku remained down after several catches during the game, but he did not stay out of the game for long.

The first was after he took a hit across the middle from former teammate Juan Thornhill after a 14-yard reception. The second came with 7:05 remaining in the third quarter, when he was hit by Payton Wilson after a 6-yard reception.

Njoku went to the locker room with 13:36 remaining. Just over two minutes later, with 11:14 remaining, Larvadain took a head shot from Steelers safety DeShon Elliott after making a 14-yard catch.

Larvadain went immediately to the locker room with the assistance of medical staff. He had two catches for 22 yards on four targets.

Njoku finished with three catches for 28 yards on six targets.
