The location where the winning ticket was sold has not been announced yet.

The cash option of the St. Patrick’s Day prize was worth $27.1 million. Mega Millions winners can either take a one-time cash payment or receive their winnings in annual installments

There were a total of 179,540 winning tickets across all prize levels on March 17.

Two Ohio ticket holders won $20,000 each, a California and a New York ticket holder each won $30,000, and someone in Arizona won $40,000, according to the news release.

Second Mega Millions winner in 7 days

The Mega Millions jackpot was last won March 10 for $244.2 million in Illinois, meaning there was only one drawing between the two jackpot wins. It’s the game’s shortest turnaround since August 2023, according to the news release.

The next Mega Millions drawing will happen on March 20, when the jackpot will reset to its starting value of $50 million, or $22.6 million cash. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesdays and Fridays.
