Union-Endicott and Johnson City High School hosted the 2026 NYSPHSAA Class A and Class B subregional games for boys and girls basketball. Of the four Section 4 teams that punched their ticket into the state tournament – Maine-Endwell, Windsor, Chenango Forks and Norwich – three continue on to the state quarterfinals on March 14.
Here are the results and top performers from each subregional game:

Class A Girls: Chenango Forks locks down Carle Place in a 71-57 win
Chenango Forks’ Maggie Warpus couldn’t escape the “MVP” chants if she tried. The senior forward managed to be just about everywhere on the court in the Blue Devils’ win against Section 8’s At Large team, Carle Place, and securing a game-high 37 points and 16 rebounds.
Along with Warpus’ eye-widening triple-double, standout guard Jordan Ericksen-Hrehor added 21 points, five rebounds and two steals in the win.
The Blue Devils’ defensive effort kept Carle Place to a mere 10 points in the second quarter and 11 in the third.
“I think it’s really been the same theme for us every game this year: it’s our defensive pressure,” Chenango Forks Head Coach Mike Curtis said. “We really pride ourselves on playing man-to-man, playing teams, matching up and giving a little bit of help where we need to.”
Up Next: Chenango Forks (15-6) will take on Waterloo (17-5) at 4:15 p.m. on March 14 at Finger Lakes Community College.
Class A Boys: Konrad hits 1,000 points as Maine-Endwell boys outlast Friends Academy
Maine-Endwell secured its spot in the quarterfinals with a 66-56 victory over Friends Academy. The Spartans were led by Preston Ocker and Marco Konrad, who combined for 51 points and 12 rebounds.
Ocker, who finished with 31 points and nine rebounds, hit nine points in the first half, then stepped onto the court in the third quarter with a new kind of fire, scoring 12 points off made threes for a 22-point second half.
Despite late foul trouble that cut Konrad’s game a quarter short, the junior guard’s physicality helped to limit Friends Academy to only five points in the second quarter, putting the Spartans at 35-23 heading into the second half. Konrad hit his 1,000-point milestone with a fadeaway jumper in the third quarter before handing it off to Ocker to lead the team in the fourth.
Chase O’Brien led Friends Academy with 24 points and Jax Saulter with 13 points.
Up Next: Maine-Endwell (16-6) will take on Grand Island (24-2) at 6 p.m. on March 14 at Buffalo State Sports Arena.
Class B Girls: Norwich unable to get past Honeoye Falls-Lima
Norwich came up short in the 43-34 loss against Honeoye Falls-Lima. Senior Emma Urgo led Norwich with 10 points while Josey Ryan and Kerrigan Reid contributed seven points each.
Former Purple Tornado athlete and first-year head coach Abby Flynn led Norwich to a 17-3 season and the team’s first Section 4 Class A championship since 2022.
The Cougars, led by Shaye Angelo, will take on Our Lady of Mercy (Section 5) on March 14 at Finger Lakes Community College.
Class A Boys: Windsor leaves no room for Cold Spring Harbor
Windsor defeated Cold Spring Harbor by a score of 64-46. Nico Soriano led the team with 16 points, followed by Brayden Moran and Jack Wharton, who contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively. Moran took control of the paint, leading the team with six rebounds and amassing six points from free throws, while Wharton found his sweet spot from behind the arc, scoring four 3-pointers within the first half.
The Black Knights had outscored Cold Spring Harbor 41-26 heading into the third quarter, then made it nearly impossible for the Seahawks to see any light at the end of the tunnel after keeping the team to only six points in the fourth quarter.
Cold Spring Harbor was led by Graham Lynch with 10 points and Yianni Dallaris with nine points.
Up Next: Windsor (12-10) will take on Olmstead (14-6) in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. on March 14 at Buffalo State Sports Arena.
