The Varsity 845 boys track and field athletes of the week poll is online for Jan. 5-11. Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845 and nominations. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon. The poll is open to Orange, Ulster and Sullivan county athletes.
One athlete per school per track and per field is allowed per week. The week’s winner will have to sit out the next poll.
Valley Central’s Jack Dudzik and Keegan Lennon won the Dec. 29-Jan. 4 track and field polls, respectively. Dudzik beat out Ryheem Tinsley of Middletown and Cameron Snyder of Washingtonville; Lennon beat Tyiese Mack of Fallsburg and Luke Beattie of Warwick.
Go to RecordOnline.com/sports/high-school and vote as often as you like until Monday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. The winners will be announced each week on the @Varsity845 account on X/Twitter.
