Post 2025 NFL trade deadline New York Jets three-round 2026 mock draft

The New York Jets endured a historic NFL trade deadline, dealing cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams in separate deals that set the organization up with multiple first-and-second-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL drafts.

General manager Darren Mougey is rebuilding this roster from the ground up. The Jets are positioned to dictate the next two drafts.

The Jets’ long-term roster needs have never been clearer. A quarterback, and playmakers on offense/defense are needed.

With that, Jets Wire’s Justin Melo conducted a three-round Jets mock draft using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine (MDM).

Round 1 (No. 3 overall): Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama

The Jets are in serious contention for quarterback Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall, but for now, they’re scheduled to own the third selection. Alabama’s Ty Simpson is another high-upside QB prospect who has been lights-out for the Crimson Tide this season. If the Jets prioritize a signal-caller in this class, Simpson, if he declares, could be their desired target.

Round 1 (No. 32 overall): Makai Lemon, WR, USC

The Jets’ second first-round pick is currently slated for No. 32 overall because the Indianapolis Colts own the best record in the NFL. It’ll almost certainly be 5-10 selections earlier than 32nd though. Wide receiver is a big-time need behind Garrett Wilson. Makai Lemon has separation quickness when uncovering from defensive backs.

Round 2 (No. 35 overall): A’Mauri Washington, DT, Oregon

Defensive tackle is a glaring hole following the Williams trade. Oregon defensive tackle A’Mauri Washington is a space eater with terrific athleticism throughout his 330-pound frame. Washington has been downright dominant for the Ducks throughout 2025.

Round 2 (No. 46 overall): R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma

The Jets did not trade Jermaine Johnson II at the deadline, but EDGE remains a need given his struggles to stay healthy and productive. Will McDonald IV has also dealt with consistency issues. R Mason Thomas is an energetic pass rusher whose red-hot motor leads to sack production.
