Subzero temperatures and a late-February blizzard are barely behind us, but much of New York is now looking ahead to a stretch of springlike weather this week.
High temperatures are forecast to climb into the 60s in parts of the state by the weekend. For the latter half of the week, highs are expected to range from the 40s to 60s, depending on location.
There is a chance of showers Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6. Rain is likely Saturday, March 7, according to the National Weather Service. Because the forecast is several days out, however, conditions could still change.

For comparison, normal daily highs during the first week of March range from the upper 30s in western and central New York (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse) to around 40 in Albany and the mid-40s in New York City and Long Island, according to National Weather Service data.
